He had three children and was no longer the wild guy I once knew. He (go) to church regularly, and he (teach) the Bible to children. He will be celebrating his tenth wedding anniversary next week. I congratulated him and wished him well as we parted.

  3. When my father was young, he (live) in the U.S. while he (study) at UCLA. Because he didn't have much money, he (work) part time as a library assistant as well. One day, while he (return) books to the shelves, he met my mother. He says that he used to watch her while she (study). He even got into trouble because he (watch) her instead of working. Fortunately for my father, my mother liked him and, while she (study), she (check) him out too.
